Paediatric TB & ACF
Integrated Pediatric TB and Technology-Enabled Active Case Finding

To accelerate India’s fight against tuberculosis, World Health Partners (WHP) is leading a large-scale initiative across Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana, reaching a population of over 250 million. The project focuses on improving pediatric TB case detection and treatment outcomes, drawing on proven approaches from earlier policy pilots and innovations in TB care.
The program combines three complementary models to deliver impact at scale:
- Intensive intervention: select districts (5 in Uttar Pradesh, 2 in Punjab, and 2 in Haryana)
- Lite intervention: 21 districts in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Haryana, and 4 in Punjab
- Technical support: to strengthen TB services in the remaining districts of all three states
In addition, WHP is conducting Active Case Finding (ACF) in 11 districts (7 in Haryana and 4 in Punjab), deploying hand-held chest X-ray devices through public-sector facilities to reach key vulnerable populations.
Implemented in partnership with Solidarity and Action Against the HIV Infection in India (SAATHII) under the Global Fund TB Grant (2024–27), the project works closely with the Central TB Division (CTD) and the respective State TB Cells to support the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP) and advance India’s vision of ending TB by 2025.
Since its launch in July 2024, the initiative has notified 76,449 pediatric TB cases achieving 99% of its target with treatment success rates of 94% in Uttar Pradesh, 93% in Haryana, and 86% in Punjab. Under the ACF component, 886 Key Vulnerable Population (KVP) cases have been detected and notified, surpassing the target at 109% achievement till October 2025.
WHP welcomes the opportunity to collaborate to implement this commitment.
