Paediatric TB & ACF
Integrated Pediatric TB and Technology-Enabled Active Case Finding
World Health Partners (WHP) is implementing the project in three states-- Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana with the coverage population of over 250 million (2011 Census). The project aims to improve pediatric TB case detection and treatment outcomes in these three states by leveraging lessons from policy initiatives and pilot projects. The pediatric TB & ACF project is being implemented using three models: (a) Intensive intervention (5 districts in Uttar Pradesh, 2 districts in Punjab and 2 districts in Haryana) (b) Lite intervention (21 districts in Uttar Pradesh, 5 districts in Haryana and 4 districts in Punjab and (c) Technical support to the remaining districts of these 3 states. The project is also engaged in Active Case Finding (ACF) in select 11 districts (7 in Haryana and 4 in Punjab) using hand-held chest x-ray devices from the public sector.
The project is being implemented in partnership with Solidarity and Action against the HIV Infection in India (SAATHII) under the Global Fund TB Grant 2024-27, and close coordination and guidance of Central TB Division (CTD) and State TB Cell . The project will support the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP) to achieve a rapid decline in the burden of TB, morbidity and mortality, and contribute to the goal of TB elimination in India by 2025, in line with the global End TB targets and the Sustainable Development Goals.
WHP welcomes the opportunity to collaborate to implement this commitment.
